Wizard Eyes is one of the Ice King's power. It is likely that the hallucinations were a side effect of wearing the Ice King's Crown. This ability is first shown in "Mortal Recoil." Ice King can see strange things that most others can't. These creatures are in the Spirit Realm. His Wizard Eyes allow him to see everything in the Spirit Realm while most can't. His Wizard Eyes apparently make him see weird things all the time, making it hard for him to distinguish strange things that actually happen and things only his eyes see. Though Ice King refers to this ability as "Wizard Eyes" it is unknown if any other wizard posses a similar ability. In the episode "Holly Jolly Secrets Part II," Ice King revealed that his crown is the source of his Wizard Eyes. In "Beyond this Earthly Realm", Ice King is able to see Finn in the spirit world. He requested Finn to place all the spirits in a spirit hole so he would not have to see them anymore.

Notable Things Seen

  • A shapeless form coming from The Lich going into Princess Bubblegum's body.
  • Odd looking monsters flying or walking around and other peculiar things. Also he has saw Finn when he was a spirit and the other spirits as of in Beyond this Earthy Realm.

Trivia

"When you have stanky old wizard eyes sometimes you see things that are real and other times it's like crazy, crazy, crazy, in your face all the time"

  • So far, Ice King is the only known wizard shown to have this power/side effect.
  • The Witch from "The Witches Garden" may have Wizard Eyes or a variation of it because she could see Jake's Subconscious when Finn couldn't.
  • In "Mortal Recoil," when the Ice King is talking abut his Wizard Eyes, the audience sees everything through his eyes.
  • It is possible that those odd things seen through Ice King's eyes are really paranormal creatures that actually exist, but they are so insane that Ice King couldn't comprehend that they are anything more than illusions.
  • Adam Muto suggested, but did not confirm that it may be Charles Bonnet syndrome.[1]
  • The monsters are like monsters from a French movie, Fantastic Planet.
