The Winter Kingdom was an alternate version of the Ice Kingdom that existed in Winterworld. It was ruled by the late Winter King.
History[]
One hundred years before "The Winter King", in a desperate attempt to regain his sanity, the Ice King transferred his madness to Princess Bubblegum. He became known as the Winter King and he remade the Ice Kingdom into a beautiful land with an elegant castle surrounded by carved mountains of ice. In a reversal of roles, the newly dubbed Candy Queen developed a mad love obsession with the Winter King and their kingdoms were in conflict ever since.
When Fionna, Cake, and Simon Petrikov arrived in the Winter Kingdom a century later, the Winter King graciously greeted them and offered to help them create a copy of the magic crown. Soon after, the kingdom is invaded again by the Candy Queen, who kidnaps Simon and the Winter King.
Fionna and Cake kill the Candy Queen's army and manage to save the Winter King and Simon. Eventually, Fionna and the Winter King kiss after falling in love, but the kiss takes away the magic of the the crown, causing the kingdom to melt and putting an end to the Winter King's reign of insanity.
The remains of the Winter Kingdom now in the form of a giant lake reappear in "Cheers" when Simon briefly revisits the Winterworld while traveling through the void of the multiverse.
Appearance[]
The Winter Kingdom is made of glowing blue ice. It is shown to be snowing all the time and at the center of the place is a castle that is made of glowing blue ice.
