The Walkman is an audio-recording device that Finn uses twice in "It Came from the Nightosphere." It uses compact cassettes to record and play back music, typical of recreational 1980s music-recording equipment.
Appearance[]
The device is yellow with orange buttons and has an internal speaker on the bottom. Finn has taped a microphone to the side of it in order to record sound. Finn's headphones are also plugged into one of the audio ports.
Episodes featured[]
In "It Came from the Nightosphere," Marceline asks Finn to record a song for her with the Walkman. Later in the episode, Finn plays back the emotional "Fry Song" for Hunson Abadeer in order to distract him.
Trivia[]
The Walkman was a brand of portable audio cassette player originally released in 1979 by Sony. It was not the first or last of its kind, but it is the most notable, as it gained international recognition throughout the 80's and 90's.
