The Usurpers of Wizard City were some of the earliest known Wizards to have existed on Earth. Millions of years before the series began, they hid the skeletal remains of Coconteppi by encasing it within a large stone tomb in order to deny magic's original source. Their tomb would eventually have the modern Wizard City built on top of it.
The flashback about Simon's life before the Mushroom War in "Jerry", implies they were heavily related to the Enchiridion, appearing in one of the slideshow frames about the book.
Appearances[]
The Usurpers appear to be yellow, glowing humanoids with pointy hats, robes, and cloth wrapped around their heads. Two of their robes appear to display crescent moons while the third has a sun that is parted in the middle. On their arms, they appear to wear multiple golden bangles.
