It is with a heavy heart as a veteran lurker of this wikia to write what could be the final blog about the days of Adventure Time, or rather the days when there were to be new episodes, new story development, something to look after every week. I have been lurking the wikia during 2009 before getting myself an account and quite frankly I sorely miss the days of checking the recent activities page for new blogs.
This wiki had been THE forum for Adventure Time fans, as in every hour there would be at most up to approximately forty new blog posts and plenty of comments within those blog posts, oh and it's doubled whenever a much awaited episode would air.
Some things I would like to have remembered here would be the days when this wiki was active, plus its ups and downs and times when we were not just a bunch of arguing fanboys but a community with a compassionate heart and a lending hand to those who are facing real problems in real life. Back then, as in during the days of Adventure Time Season 3 onwards, the wiki chat was active; people from all over the world was talking to one another.
In fact there were even talks of having to get moderators from across the globe in order to keep an eye on the wiki 24/7 due to the number of people and the time zones, in short, there were people here - active people - from across the world regardless of time zones.
Some notable events which I would like to be memorialized in this blog post (Or, the most craziest times that you may have not read about unless you were there)
1. Typhoon Yolanda - There were several Filipino wiki users that were in the path of this devastating Typhoon, and it's quite awesome to know that you guys were here to show support and concern for other human beings...trust me, given that this was in the aftermath of the great shipping war (PBXFinn, FPXFinn, MarcelineXFinn) it was great to see blogs that did not have a war zone in the comments.
2. Suicide Help - Yes, you heard that right, WE THE AT WIKI COMMUNITY HAD HELPED A SUICIDAL PERSON. I cannot remember the person's username but he or she (implied to be a she) posted a blog with a title around the words of 'I need help', where she poured out her problems and noted how she wanted to kill herself. We rallied around that person and poured our support, so much so that even a Wiki Staff member commented suicide hotlines and other words of encouragement.
3. The Great Shipping War - Who would not forget the Great Shipping War? I may have not fought in that campaign but I sure did remember seeing the blogs, each stating a side and an argument as to which ship will be canon. We are talking about a full blown civil war, one could say that if AT aired during the early days of the internet, this website - if it would be established in the supposed alternate reality - would have been exterminated by the amount of posts and comments, Moderators and Admins were round the clock, stamping out those who would take advantage of the chaos in order to break the rules. This war was fought in vain, we would eventually find out that the answer to the Great Shipping War was 'neither'.
4. The Great Exodus - This was one of the more sadder times of the wiki, in the aftermath of episodes that saw Finn breaking up with Flame Princess and PB getting closer to Marcy, the activity died down exponentially and everyone else just left, at least those who were just caught up with the Great Shipping War and had no love for the community that is this wiki. I did not flee but I did follow those who fled, they fled to other wikis such as the Steven Universe wiki.
5. The Underage Banning - This one was very weird indeed, a young internet user blew her cover and was banned for being underaged...even though her birthday was two months away and she would have been of the legal age of 13 to be a member of the Wiki...we never saw her around again even until now.
Final word: I made a poem that was turned into a song for our graduation, I would end this blog with an excerpt of my poem:
"Through days and night, we keep our dreams in the skies,
Through good times and bad, I will hold your hand, even if blue skies turn grey,
I will never leave your heart, this is the start,
Take me with you in this life, it won't be that hard.
I will be here with you."
This is my final bow to the old active wiki, by active I mean when Adventure Time was still airing and when the usual contributors are making new pages. THANK YOU, my dear community, for making this show one of the best show and fandom ever, thank you for showing up at conventions in my country, I would say that Adventure Time made it possible for our country to be even considered a place for fandom*.

(*There was this Adventure Time convention in Metro Manila, The Philippines, and before that our country was not known to be a place for fan culture, that is untul the AT convention happened at SM Mall of Asia which I do believe there's a blog coverage in the wiki about the event.)
