Up-Ton[1], also known as Human City, is an island-like structure/city that floats above the Land of Ooo through the use of advanced technology. It was created by humans several years after Finn convinced his mother Minerva Campbell during the events of "The Light Cloud" that they should come back to Ooo. Humans eventually returned to Ooo in the episode "Come Along With Me", though their floating city did not appear until the Fionna & Cake episode "Simon Petrikov".

This is one of the few known post-war human settlements, with the others being Founders' Island, Hub Island, Back-To-Nature Island, and Better Reality Island.

Though humans are still technically isolated, they are now able to easily descend to Ooo using vehicles such as flying boats, hoverbikes, and hovercars.

History[]

After the events in the Islands miniseries, the humans are allowed to leave Founders' Island after a thousand years of isolation, and the Guardian is deactivated. In "Come Along With Me" we Minerva and the humans arrive back in Ooo.

In the Fionna & Cake episode "Simon Petrikov", the city appears for the first time, showing the episode's titular character in his life as a living museum exhibit, representing the pre-war life of a 20th century man in a vintage-looking house. The episode also reveals that a human girl named Astrid became a fan of the stories that the Ice King wrote about Fionna and Cake.

In "Cake the Cat", Cake gets lost in the city after being transported to the Land of Ooo by Simon's corrupted ritual in his attempt to contact Betty/GOLB. Simon gives her an Animal Translator Collar, which he had stolen from a Dog Tourist in the previous episode. Cake reaches the point of falling out of Up-Ton. Later, Fionna is transported to the universe where Ooo is a thing, finding Cake in a market with the help of the fangirl Astrid that uses her DNA-scanner wristband in Cake's fur to track the pet.

Comics[]

The following information is from the Adventure Time comic book series. It may not be part of the same canon or continuity as the animated series.
