Synopsis[]

When DJ Flame goes missing, Fionna turns to magic -- and an unlikely ally -- for help with the search. As Huntress attempts to navigate the Heart of the Forest alone, Marshall learns a critical truth about his mother.

Marshall Lee's pose and hiss when he leaps towards Damon echo those performed by Me-Mow when she leaps at Wildberry Princess in "Jake vs. Me-Mow".
This is the second episode of Season 2 that doesn't literally depict any of its titular animals, with the first being "The Lion of Embers", whose namesake is instead represented by DJ Flame.

Storyline Analysis[]

This is the first episode of Fionna & Cake Season 2 in which Simon, Princess Bubblegum, Marceline, and Finn do not appear, though Finn is mentioned by Fionna in passing.
