Trivia
- Kumail Nanjiani returns as Prismo in this episode. Nanjiani originally voiced Prismo in the original series, but due to a misunderstanding between Adam Muto and Nanjiani, Prismo was voiced by Sean Rohani in season one of Fionna & Cake.
- It's revealed that DJ Flame's real name is Phelix. In the original series episode, "The Cooler", Flame Princess's real name was revealed to be Phoebe.
- Fionna's doppelgänger's name was revealed to be Fennel, similar to how Finn's grassy doppelgänger took on the name of Fern.
- Flame Princess returns for the first time since the original series finale, "Come Along With Me". While she admits that she really did love Finn before kissing him, she admits to Breakfast Princess that she knew it was a long shot since she's seeing someone else now.
- The Dream Warrior returns in this episode when Huntress Wizard seeks out help. Dream Warrior was first introduced in "Who Would Win".
- Cotton Candy Princess makes her present day appearance.
- This episodes shows that Ashley is alive and was brought back after falling into the white void in "Cheers".
Cultural References
- When the Dream Warrior appears to Huntress Wizard, another Cheers reference is made when he appears as a bartender and asks if she wants to go where everybody knows her name. In Cheers, the theme song is "Where Everybody Knows Your Name" and the setting is at a bar named "Cheers".
Episode Connections
- The beginning of this episode shows a flashback of Fionna and Cake saving Flame Prince from Ice Queen back when Fionna-world was magical like Ooo and then transitions to a flashback of Fionna and Flame Prince's encounter after Fionna-world lost its magic.
- In addition, this episode references to the series premiere, Fionna Campbell when Flame Prince, now known as DJ Flame, broke up with Fionna over text.
- The Wish Star Sword returns for the first time since the original series episode, "The Prince Who Wanted Everything", albeit in a stylized flashback.
- Prismo's face is still glitching after the events of the season one finale, "Cheers".
- When the Scarab freaks out about a crossover event in the Multiverse, Prismo casually dismisses the problem, saying it wasn't their problem since Huntress Wizard entered Fionna-world in a different way than other inhabitants have journeyed to other worlds.
- When Huntress Wizard enters the Astral Plane, she enters in a similar way that Finn did when he summoned the Astral Beast in "Still".
- In addition, the Dream Warrior Finn and Jake encountered in "Who Would Win" gives out cryptic advice to Huntress Wizard, similar to how his advice was cryptic in the aforementioned episode.
- Flame Princess kissing Finn to save his life mirrors how Finn tried kissing Flame Princess to save her life in "Burning Low", where their first kiss causes Flame Princess to heat up so much that she almost dies. In addition, she heats up again when kissing Finn, but is now more physically stable than she was in the aforementioned episode.
- However, unlike "Burning Low", the kiss doesn't work for Flame Princess saving Finn, but Flame Princess knew it was a long shot and admitted to Breakfast Princess that she's seeing someone else now.
Storyline Analysis
- It is revealed that in order to buy back The Sweet Spot, the gang will need to pay Queenie $50,000, or she will turn it into a parking lot.
Production Notes
- On November 3, 2025, Warner Bros. Discovery released three promotional screenshots of the episode prior to its official release.[2]
Errors
- When Marceline looks out the window of the turret at the candy people, large areas of her skin are exposed to sunlight, as her umbrella isn't covering her completely. Even so, she does not get burned.
