Just asking, how is the encyclopedia an "unreliable source"? Just because it was written by a voice actor rather than a writer, it does not automatically mean it is unreliable unless there is information there that contradicts the show.Ninja72 (talk) 20:16, October 29, 2018 (UTC)

It being written by a voice actor rather than a writer is kind of a flimsy reason to consider it unreliable imo. I mean, unless some of the information there contradicts the show.Ninja72 (talk) 20:26, October 29, 2018 (UTC)

Bass

I think that the axe bass is a reference to gene Gene Simmons' bass. 71.215.185.44 01:18, April 8, 2013 (UTC) Sebastian

Marceline is a half-demon vampire, not half-vampire

It's important to note that Marceline was born half-demon, half-human. This was confirmed by Adam Muto at the Adventure Time panel at Wondercon. She became a vampire later on, which makes her a half-demon/half-human vampire. DanielEGVi (talk) 08:37, September 8, 2013 (UTC)

This was actually discussed already among admins and I am not sure if a conclusion was made. From what it sounds like, we are not going by this evidence until true confirmation. So for now, I am undoing the edit until further discussion. Heeeeeeeeeeeere's JOHNNY !!! 13:50, September 8, 2013 (UTC)
But then, where do we have confirmation she's half-vampire? DanielEGVi (talk) 19:48, September 8, 2013 (UTC)
Well she has been called a "vampire" throughout the whole series, and her father is a demon. So it can be assumed she's half and half. Heeeeeeeeeeeere's JOHNNY !!! 19:57, September 8, 2013 (UTC)
There you said it, she's called a "vampire", not a "half-vampire", in the same fashion she considers herself "half-demon" and not "demon". She presumably has a father and had a mother, and we know his father is a demon, so it clarifies the half-demon part. But people in the show aren't born vampires, but rather, become vampires, so her mother can't be just a vampire and make Marceline half-vampire, because she became a vampire after being born. It hasn't even been stated in the show what species her mother was, Adam Muto says she was human. Vampirism is supposed to make you a vampire on top of being whatever your species is. This topic needs more discussion. DanielEGVi (talk) 23:15, September 8, 2013 (UTC)
Her being a vampire after birth is already known, she has a visible bite on her neck.BillStef (talk) 00:15, September 9, 2013 (UTC)
Actually, some franchises show that vampires can reproduce among themselves, therefore creating new vampires—sometimes even with non-vampires, creating hybrids. TheMostBoringManInTheWorld (talk) 01:52, September 9, 2013 (UTC)
Yes, but in "Jake the Dog" it was shown that she was half demon and not a vampire, the reason for this because she was busy guarding the crown her whole life so she couldn't go out and get turned into one. BillStef (talk) 11:38, September 9, 2013 (UTC)
Actually I just noted that. For no obvious reason. TheMostBoringManInTheWorld (talk) 11:19, September 11, 2013 (UTC)
Right, sorry. BillStef (talk) 23:29, October 2, 2013 (UTC)

BillStef (talk) 23:30, October 2, 2013 (UTC)

i think we need to give recognition to her being a former half human, as it stands she is only listed as half vampire half demon tennispony (talk) 02:27, October 18, 2013 (UTC)

Marceline stated she was half-demon in Jake the Dog and in Bad Little Boy's "boy-is-girl-world" confirmed it further when Marshal Lee (Marceline alt) said he was the son of the The Vampire King and a Demon. So Marceline's mother is "The Vampire Queen". —Preceding unsigned comment added by The9tail (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Reliability of age references

In Simon+Marcy is the '996 years ago' supposed to be narrator/word-of-god data, or is it meant to reflect the numbers which Marcy is telling to Finn and Jake?

When Simon calls Marcy a '7 year old girl' should we take that a reliable? We know that even without vampire powers she ages slower (allowing the survival of Farmworld Marcy, albeit elderly) due to her being a half-demon, so it is possible she could be older than 7 and simply lied about her age to Simon for fear of scaring him off. Much like PB allows herself to be called 18 when there is much evidence to the contrary. Or if Simon knew she was older, he might have lied and called her younger to invoke pity, assuming he thought the green hole-mutant things (ex humans?) were capable of it.

Are there any references besides the 996+7 that give us the 1003? Like a word-of-god character profile in a book or official site? BonnibelFlame (talk) 18:56, February 26, 2014 (UTC)

I know this is an year old comment, but i'll answer your question anyway. For starters, there is no legit proof that Marceline ages slowly. It's been roughly 1000 years since the war, and Marceline was just a very little girl when it happened. The way she acted in "Simon and Marcy" really gave her the appearance of a seven year old. If she was older biologically, she wouldn't need Simon's help to take care of her. Again, the only proof that we got out of her Farmworld version is that she's just immortal.~ Maple Panda (talk) 02:08, May 6, 2015 (UTC)

Trivia

In response to the reverting of a recent edit I made, I would have to argue that such a habit makes for some interesting trivia. Otherwise, it could be in the personality section or even background seeing as it is just as significant a trait as the Ice King's bathing in curdled milk. What makes it so non-noteworthy? "Space. The final frontier." ~The-Artist-64 (talk) 22:12, September 28, 2015 (UTC)The-Artist-64

Can you elaborate, what trivia?
Also other articles could have bad trivia that just hasn't been removed yet.File:Gotta Kill 'Em All!. ƒelinoel_User Page 04:49, September 29, 2015 (UTC)
Here is exactly what I wrote: "Interestingly, she appears to have the habit of picking her nose. She has been seen doing so on at least two occasions." References to said scenes were provided. Who dictates exactly what is trivia worthy and what isn't? I'd say such a disgusting habit makes for great trivia. "Space. The final frontier." ~The-Artist-64 (talk) 21:35, September 29, 2015 (UTC)The-Artist-64

Abadeer

We know her father is named Abadeer and that Finn shortens this to Abadeer when discussing him. It seems reasonable to assume this is a surname but...

Do we have any sources for Marceline actually having the surname Abadeer? Has she been referred to this in-show? In any official capacity? Going to cite-tag it in hopes we can replace this with a ref'd source.

Are we assuming that children take on the name of the father? How do we know she didn't take on her mom's unknown surname?

This seems about as sourced as people calling her mom "Mrs. Abadeer" assuming they were married and that she took on Hunson's surname. talk2ty 04:00, October 13, 2015 (UTC)

No known sources afaikFile:Gotta Kill 'Em All!. ƒelinoel_User Page 17:27, November 16, 2015 (UTC)
In that case maybe we should just move this page to Marceline? No point having surname if we can't even support her taking on her dad's surname. talk2ty 01:45, January 26, 2018 (UTC)

Evicted age reference

I found her claim (affirmed by her dad) that she is 'a thousand' in Daddy's Little Monster/Transcript but cannot find any reference to her age in Evicted!/Transcript. I cite-tagged this claim when listing it in her template, but think we should remove it if evidence cannot be located.

Was the wrong reference cited for this? A different episode maybe? talk2ty 04:15, October 13, 2015 (UTC)

 • Oh, Marceline,
 • Why are you so mean?
 • Marceline: I'm not mean, I'm a thousand years old,
 • And I just lost track of my moral code.

Biological Age

 • I've noticed there's been some back and forth with marceline's bio age (not her physical age being over a thousand). Isn't the encyclopaedia an unreliable source? As far as I know, that was just written by hunson abadeer's voice actor who isn't involved with the writing of the show. The citation claiming she's 18 to 21 was a reliable link, it was andy ristaino's formspring account before the website went down, and is probably much more accurate than the book, but it's kind of hard to prove that if the website doesn't show up anymore. I mainly wanted to bring this up here so we could sort of have a settlement on this. I might change marceline's age to 18 to 21 or just leave it out entirely since we can't really know for sure at the moment. ~"Don't be a faffin' slacker!"~User:Hyper CP 05:58, October 26, 2018 (UTC)
Adam Muto, a more recent source and worked on more episodes involving Marceline stated [1] here that "Marceline is a forever adolescent", in which adolescent ranges from 10-19 years. [2] here also states Marceline is a teen, which ranges from 13-17, possibly 18 and 19, as well. In the main series, Marceline refers to herself as a "kid" in Stakes, as does Two Bread Tom. --IKirumii (talk) 06:44, October 27, 2018 (UTC)
