I don't understand why this is a speculation page?Your in a dress? That's crazy!Fiona and cake with marshal lee

We do allow pages about mentioned characters, even if they don't appear on screen. So it's fine as long as we keep it free of speculation. (Which will probably be a difficult task.) --Cornprone 00:34, November 16, 2011 (UTC)
How can we prevent this page from speculation?Your in a dress? That's crazy!Fiona and cake with marshal lee

I think this should be deleted too. This page was created by Marshall Lee the Vampire King who is known for vandalizing this wiki. Cookinggumgum O.o.O.o.O 21:18, November 16, 2011 (UTC)

Yes,i suppose you would think that O.o.O.o.O.But I have comited no recent crimes!Marceline DOES mention her mother in Henchman DUDE!!!Your in a dress? That's crazy!Fiona and cake with marshal lee

It's nonsense this page should be deleted. The character is mentioned before so Marceline's mom DOES excist. She could be dead or alive, but she does excist. If this is page is going to be deleted then we should also delete Meat Man, Uncle Gumbald and Bazooka Goblin as "speculation". Let's not be ridiculous and just keep this page. I'm sure we can add more information eventually (maybe Dad's Dungeon) will reveal more info? But it's stupid to delete the page. Marcaline 20:59, November 20, 2011 (UTC)

Marceline's mom

Marceline's mother has to be deceased. A princess becomes a queen when her mother is deceased and Marceline is a vampire queen.

Not really. In that one movie, The Princess Diaries 2, the queen just flat-out resigns and her granddaughter becomes the queen. Of course, the new queen had to get married, first. Marceline's mom could have just said f***k it and forced Marceline to get married.

Oh my glob, oh my glob, oh my glob, oh-my....g-l-o-b...! The user "Football" found a legit picture of her M-O-M! It's really blurry, but we can fix that, and, Walla!, we got ourseleves an image!

Marceline killed the Vampire King to get her title of Vampire Queen, it was most likely not a title her mom had. Also, please remember to sign your posts with four tildes.

This page has way too much speculation.Chubzhac 22:40, April 26, 2012 (UTC)

Ok, yeah, thanks for ignoring the fact that we have a legit picture of Marceline's mom! Why don't you guys believe me? :"( I've never vandalized before... And then we'd have an actual profile picture... she's really pretty... It's not speculation, I have proof. 23:24, April 26, 2012 (UTC)

Removed a lot of the speculation.

ƒelinoel (Talk) 45px-Wikia_Logo.svg.png 13:49, May 11, 2012 (UTC)

"Species: Vampire" I guess that's another speculation? Mushroom time (talk) 18:17, October 7, 2012 (UTC)
I removed her species (as well as the Undead category) and her latest appearance (the portrait) since it isn't certain that she is the mystery woman in there. Although, I have to say, even though it is speculation I do think that mentioning the portrait as a possible image of her is fine as long as it is not stated as fact. Lailoken (Talk) 19:19, October 7, 2012 (UTC)

My own speculation

I don't know if this belongs here, but i would like to know what other people may think of this:

Wouldn't it make sense to assume that she was one of the pre-war vampires? this would make Marceline half-vampire half-demon (assuming Hunson is indeed, a demon) and would explain why can Marceline shapeshift (as far as i know, it's not a normal trait in most fictional vampires, except maybe for bat form) yet shares the weaknesses of a vampire, and she didn't had any bite marks in Memory of a memory, maybe her mother died somewhere in between the war and Adventure Time era? and maybe Marceline just wants to look like she did? (hence the bite marks and long, black hair). 08:01, May 22, 2012 (UTC)

I can't find a better quality image for this page, nor can I improve an image for this page. Unfortunately, this upload better quality image is practically impossible until Marcy's mom makes an apperance or Frederator posts production artwork involving the photo. True Sephiroth 02:42, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

But... it is all blurry, I figure it is blurry because someone took it from a not very high def version of the episode.ƒelinoel (Talk) 45px-Wikia_Logo.svg.png 13:16, June 4, 2012 (UTC)
I think what happened was that the image was simply enlarged. From what I found, I noted the image was really small in the episode itself. This is giving me the impression the image was just enlarged. I'm going to wait till the episode comes back onto my vod and just take a screencap from my tv. True Sephiroth 22:15, June 10, 2012 (UTC)

Not a problem, if one currently can't be found, then you can remove the template. Or you can leave it as a reminder. I am surprised no BG art was released for it though, it is quite important to fans. -- Bunai82 (talk) 22:43, June 10, 2012 (UTC)

I'm going to leave it on for the sake that she will likely appear in the series sooner or later. At that time, it can be replaced later. True Sephiroth 16:18, June 20, 2012 (UTC)

Jake's grandmother

How come the "Jake's grandmother" page was deleted while Marceline's mom has even less information known about her. --King Chubzhac, Boss of YOU (talk) 18:41, October 9, 2012 (UTC)

Because there is a picture of Marceline's mom.ƒelinoel (Talk) 45px-Wikia_Logo.svg.png 19:02, October 9, 2012 (UTC)
How do you know that's her? The article itself admits that the picture is speculation. Heck, the "image" topic right above this one admits the only reason it's there is for the fans. --King Chubzhac, Boss of YOU (talk) 19:14, October 9, 2012 (UTC)
The fact of the matter is that of course Jake has a grandmother, he also has a great-grandmother, should we make an article about her too? A speculative image is more important then just a random comment.ƒelinoel (Talk) 45px-Wikia_Logo.svg.png 19:51, October 9, 2012 (UTC)
The only time Marceline's mom was mentioned was in a random comment! --King Chubzhac, Boss of YOU (talk) 19:56, October 9, 2012 (UTC)

A speculative image is more important then just a random comment.
ƒelinoel (Talk) 45px-Wikia_Logo.svg.png 20:05, October 9, 2012 (UTC)
That one of the points I'm trying to make: It's a speculative image! The majority of this page is speculative and furthermore, none of this has anything to do with the point I'm trying to make. I want to know why was the Jake's grandmother's page deleted when this talk page clearly dictates "we do allow pages about mentioned characters, even if they don't appear on screen. So it's fine as long as we keep it free of speculation." A speculative image shouldn't even be allowed. --King Chubzhac, Boss of YOU (talk) 20:47, October 9, 2012 (UTC)
I think what is said on the Manual of Style is more important than what is said on this talk page. -- Jake getting pulled on by candy kids special poseSkyFinn with brain outline special model 20:58, October 9, 2012 (UTC)
That's another point I'm trying to make: Why was Jake's grandmother deleted when this page is still up, despite the fact they're both equally important (or in this case unimportant). If Jake's grandmother was against the MoS, then so is this page. --King Chubzhac, Boss of YOU (talk) 21:08, October 9, 2012 (UTC)
Personally, I think that Marceline's mom is more worthy of a page than Jake's grandmother because of fan interest. Viewers want to know more about Marceline's mom and it's likely that there will eventually be more info on her, but there's not really any mystery surrounding Jake's grandmother. Even Jake's mother has very little info and very little viewer interest. Lailoken (Talk) 04:48, October 10, 2012 (UTC)
Fan interest is the only reason this page is here! Fan interest is what the blogs, forums and the Fan Fiction Wiki is for. I want to know why does this page gets to be an exception to the rules. The rules state the wiki only allows speculation pages for mysteries the show is clearly setting up. Marceline simply saying that her mother would patch up her knees after they got scraped up isn't mysterious, no logical conclusions can be made from it, and since it's been more 3 seasons since her mother's been mentioned, I doubt it counts as " building up suspense (Oh dear Grob... please don't let I Remember You have anything to do Marceline's mother after I went through all this...). --King Chubzhac, Boss of YOU (talk) 17:08, October 10, 2012 (UTC)
It's not really that speculative. The only speculation is that the woman in the picture is her, but it's stated as speculation and not fact (which I would oppose). If it were to be removed for any reason it would be lack of information. When I said "fan interest," I didn't mean "fan speculation" or "fan fiction" which is what those things you listed are for. Many articles on this site are affected by fan interest in ways that they don't otherwise warrant. Lemongrab has been in 2 episodes and his page is bigger (in terms of KB) than Princess Bubblegum's. Lemongrab's page is that big because people are interested (some a little too interested) in his character, and this article exists for a similar reason. Lailoken (Talk) 04:16, October 11, 2012 (UTC)
You can't say this page isn't speculative when you just admitted that one reasons it deserves to stay is that it's allegedly "mysterious" and might be building up to something, and also your belief that it's "likely" there'll be more info on her is technically speculation. As for Lemongrab, his page is, in my opinion, far too large and filled with speculation. However the difference between the two pages is that Lemongrab was a main character in 2 episodes and Marceline's mom was mentioned in passing 3 seasons ago. Also I would like to make it clear here that I just want to be given an legitimate answer to why Jake's grandmother was deleted while pages like this, Ham Sandwich and Cherub are allowed despite the fact that there all currently on the same level of importance. --King Chubzhac, Boss of YOU (talk) 04:59, October 11, 2012 (UTC)
Yes, it is speculation that I think there will be more info on her later, but I'm not writing it in the article; I was just stating my personal opinion. Also, I wasn't trying to draw a parallel between Lemongrab and Marceline's mom, I was just stating that when viewers are interested in a certain subject it can attract undue attention. It boils down to this: the editors of this wiki (representing the viewer population) have decided that Marceline's mom is interesting enough to keep and Jake's grandmother is not. They are both roughly equal, objectively, but the "fan interest" factor that I mentioned is what tipped the scales.
I'm really beginning to wonder if you want this page removed because you truly believe that it doesn't belong here or if you're just trying to get revenge for Jake's Grandmother's page. If it wasn't deleted would you have ever started this conversation? Lailoken (Talk) 05:35, October 11, 2012 (UTC)~
First of all, I care about the "Jake's grandmother" page about as much as I care about this page, which isn't much. This being said, despite the claims I've been using in my argument I have nothing against this page. I simply wish to point out that there are dozens of pages like this on the wiki about characters who don't have enough information to warrant their own page and out of all of them "Jake's grandmother" was deleted. The only reason I'm on this page is because I felt this page was the strongest example I could use in my argument (and I was correct, because as you pointed out the only difference between this page and the "Jake's grandmother" page is the fact that "Marceline's mom" has more fan interest).
So, I'm going to try this from a different angle. I do not believe this page has enough merit for a page and everyone else doesn't think Jake's grandmother doesn't have enough "fan support" to warrant a page, so why don't we merge the pages into the Jake and Marceline's pages. That way the "fan interest" can continue and we can alway remake the pages if more info on the characters is revealed. --King Chubzhac, Boss of YOU (talk) 17:15, October 11, 2012 (UTC)
The image may be speculatory, but I still stand by my point.
If you want this article deleted so badly then try to get one of the crats to give their opinion on the matter as they are higher up then mere admins.

Marshall Lee's parents

As an alternate analogue of Marceline is it relevant that we know that Marshall's parents were a demon and a vampire queen?

Assuming the parallel holds, this would mean that Marceline's mother was a Vampire Queen.--Marhawkman (talk) 01:57, February 20, 2013 (UTC)

Marceline's mother was human, at least when Marceline was conceived. Icanhascheezeburger (talk) 09:20, February 20, 2013 (UTC)

This again? Marshall Lee didn't say that, he said he was a son of a demon, that last part was him REFFERING TO HIMSELF as the Vampire King, because Marceline's the Vampire Queen, he's Marshall Lee, so that makes him the vampire king. Ghosts sit around the campfire and tell Chuck Norris stories 09:42, February 20, 2013 (UTC)

--Oookay.... How do we know that she was human?--Marhawkman (talk) 02:42, February 21, 2013 (UTC)

My idea is that Marceline's mom is a type of shape-shifting non-human creature, similar to werewolves, but may be able to shape-shift into other forms. This may have been passed down to Marceline, allowing her to shape-shift. Her mother most likely was not the Vampire Queen before her, as her skin is far too dark and turquoise for a traditional vampire; but Marceline inherited her satus as Vampire Queen by slaying the Vampire King and recieving his "throne". She is also most liely dead or missing, as Hunson Abadeer did not mention her and Marceline has only made a refrence to her once.

Wondercon 2013

This is listed as a reference supporting that the species of Marceline's mother is human. Could we get more thorough information about this? For example, a link to a video interview and/or transcript of interview with one of the creators at this convention? Very vague, and understanding the full context would be beneficial in interpreting it. BonnibelFlame (talk) 16:44, February 26, 2014 (UTC)

Is Marceline's mother really deceased?

Who confirmed that Marceline's mother is deceased? Her fate was never even mentioned in the TV series! Can't we just make a Presumed deceased category for now? Her fate is still unconfirmed as of the series finale.

--MatthewRC (talk) 18:21, September 23, 2018 (UTC)

"Come Along with me" is literally the last episode of Adventure Time. If she was somehow alive after 1000 years (doubtful cause she's a normal human and if the war didn't kill her, old age certainly would've) then they would have revealed it in an episode.

But they didn't. Adventure Time is over and there are zero signs of Marceline's Mom still being alive. So we can safely say she's dead.

--LapisLazuliisthebest (talk) 22:24, September 23, 2018 (UTC)

I know, but there's going to be a continuation in comic book form by BOOM! Studios. Let's just wait till we find out in the Season 11 comics. They may not be canon, but the comics should reveal her fate in the future.

--MatthewRC (talk) 23:13, September 23, 2018 (UTC)

Even if the series is over, it was never said that she is dead, so it is kind of speculation.Ninja72 (talk) 07:34, September 24, 2018 (UTC)

Saying "they never said she's dead" is kind of a weak argument. Like I said before, she's a normal everyday human being, not a demon, cyborg or mutant ect. Assuming she survived the war she still would have died of old age. It's a stubborn fact of life: normal humans don't live to the age 1000.

Granted there have been humans that have somehow made to present day Ooo, like Simon, Betty and Moe, but it wasn't by normal means. To assume she might have somehow found away to be alive in the present would be more speculative then just accepting she's dead. The fact that the show hasn't revealed her to be alive pretty much means the creators want her to just be dead.

Although you do have a point with the comics. How about we make a deal. If Marceline's Mom s not revealed to be alive by the end of the comics, we can class her as dead.

--LapisLazuliisthebest (talk) 08:21, September 24, 2018 (UTC)

Or maybe we can just ask an admin about this?Ninja72 (talk) 08:26, September 24, 2018 (UTC)

If Marceline's a vampire-demon hybrid and her mother is human, is Marceline adopted? Dynasti the Radicles Fangirl (talk) 03:29, June 4, 2019 (UTC)

Honestly I kind of wondered the same thing. They never really made it clear how she came to be. But I'd assume somehow her mom is her biological mother, and Hunson is her biological father (don't ask me how that's supposed to work, but that's the theory). She was later bitten by a vampire whilst being a vamp slayer as a teenager after Simon left her to find Betty, and that's how she became half-vamp and able to fly and whatnot, cause her demonic half was able to absorb the powers of the vamps she killed. You have to watch the Stakes miniseries to get the full story's details. —RyaNayR (wallcontribs) 20:32:26, 4 Jun 2019 (UTC)
