Episode synopsis[]

Trivia[]

In the trivia it says: "This is the first time Finn wears Ice King's crown; this is a callback to how Ice King was able to see the Lich in Mortal Recoil. However having seen Simon's video in Holly Jolly Secrets Part II, he also should understand the potential risk of wearing the crown." However if you look closely, it's actually Farmworld Finn and his pet donkey Bartram/Barthrem. So he could have never known the consequences of wearing the crown

Errors[]

After Finn puts on the crown and Farmworld Marceline runs back to the cave where Simon is trapped, you can see Simon still wearing his crown.

Hey, I noticed that in the later half of Finn the Human Tromo wears an eyepatch but in this episode he's eyepatch is gone. Think this might be Error Triva worthy? Adventurer Bullet (talk) 21:13, November 22, 2012 (UTC)

Promotional art[]

3-part episodes[]

The main article notes that "The Lich," "Finn the Human," and "Jake the Dog" comprise the series' first 3-part episode in the true sense. However, isn't it true that Season 2's 2-part cliffhanger of "Mortal Folly" and "Mortal Recoil," combined with Season 3's "Too Young," also technically comprise a 3-part episode? They are closely connected by Princess Bubblegum's turning 13 at the end of "Mortal Recoil," with PB not appearing again during the intervening 5 episodes and 14 weeks before her dilemma is resolved in "Too Young."

One might deduce that the "Flame Princess Trilogy" - the Season 3/Season 4 2-part cliffhanger "Incendium" and "Hot to the Touch," combined with "Burning Low" later in Season 4 - also technically comprises a 3-parter as well. However, the argument is admittedly much weaker here, as 14 episodes and 4 months intervene, and it's certainly conceivable that some time may have elapsed between "Hot to the Touch" and "Burning Low." -- Glenn L (talk) 09:00, November 13, 2012 (UTC)

There's a difference between a continued sub-plot and a multi-part episode. "The Lich," "Finn the Human," and "Jake the Dog" occur one immediately after the other in the show's timeline, but we don't know how much time passed between "Mortal Recoil" and "Too Young." What does the passage of time have to do with a continued sub-plot and a multi-part episode? File:Gotta Kill 'Em All!. ƒelinoel_User Page 20:33, November 30, 2012 (UTC)
Put it this way: A multi-part episode should, if credits were edited out, look like a single, seamless episode; a continued sub-plot would have an obvious break point. There's also the fact that "Too Young" does not directly follow "Mortal Recoil" in air-dates. If 2 or more episodes with a continuing sub-plot counted as a multi-episode then a lot of episodes are multi-part. You could say that "Burning Low" is the 3rd part of "Hot to the Touch" and "Incendium." You could even say that "Mortal Folly," "Mortal Recoil," "Too Young," "In Your Footsteps," "The Lich," "Finn the Human," and "Jake the Dog" make up a 7 part episode. Woah, I guess that is a seven part episode! o: File:Gotta Kill 'Em All!. ƒelinoel_User Page 18:36, December 3, 2012 (UTC)

Gunter[]

Is it worth It to mention that when Finn went crazy because of the crown he didn't call anyone Gunter like Simon did in Simon and Marcy69.59.98.19 22:01, April 21, 2013 (UTC)

Dog Shaming[]

I added to the "Cultural References" part the idea that the sign "I STEAL JEWELS" on Gunter references the "Dog Shaming " internet meme. Yuzura changed it back. Care to explain? I think it's really suits... 87.68.24.224 23:01, April 27, 2013 (UTC)

First of all, it is speculative and even a bit irrelevant. Secondly, that does not even seem like a legitimate internet meme. It does not belong in the section. --Yuzura (talk) 23:12, April 27, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, my link here was wrong. Fixed. As I have seen in many other episodes enteries, the "Cultural References" section treats even really minor details. It is speculative because no crew member has confirmed it, but I find it pretty reasonable. All that been said, I don't want us to rattle on about it. Let's keep it this way and I hope more members will state their opinions. 87.68.24.224 23:31, April 27, 2013 (UTC)

Inconsistancy[]

In the show, there have been episodes that had the exact same name as a character (or in some cases, an object). Here is a list:

However, there seems to be inconsistancy - some episodes (Goliad, Princess Monster Wife, James Baxter the Horse) don't have the "— (episode)" suffix after them, while other (The Lich, Finn the Human, Jake the Dog, Donny,Susan Strong, Heat Signature, Gut Grinder) do.

My question is whether such episodes should feature the suffix after their name? TheMostBoringManInTheWorld (talk) 03:30, July 3, 2013 (UTC)
