What is up with the †s where it lists Finn's parents? Usually when a † or an asterisk or something is used down at the bottom it explains something based on that... but there is no explanation?

Actually, Finn's parents aren't dead. Martin's alive and they don't say anything about his mother.

Finn's status as a last human ive got a theory

Alright maybe its possible that he's not the last human. There are actually several theories on this like how it may be possible he's not the last human so here they are;

1.Maybe his little brother is still alive or possibly his parents.

2.Possibly he's never seen a human that's alive along with the rest of Ooo.

3.Ooo may just not have any other humans while outside of Ooo theres people.

4.Maybe someone else who he considered a humanoid is actually a human in disguise.

Finn and Huckleberry Finn connection?

Is it possible that Finn is based off or refrences the character Huck from The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain? In the episode" Rainy Day Dream", Finn is in his imagination zone wondering why Bellamy bug is there and Bellamy Bug answers, "Oh ho ho ho, I don't know, my young fellow. You tell me. Perhaps I represent your secret desire to be civilized"! It is known that Huck had a secrect desire to be civilized, just like Finn. It is also intresting how Huck is imaginative and loves adventure like Finn altho Finn claims to be unamaginative. There is also a conncetion to between the characters because Finn's name happens to be the surname of Huck. Farmworld Finn from the episode "Finn The Human" also lives in a rual area like Huck from The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, also Farmworld Finn and Huck seem to both be wearing worn clothes due to their farm lifestlye. Current age

Based on the reference used to support him being 14 in 2012, Ward saying he ages every year, wouldn't that mean he should be 15 by now? +Yc 07:50, July 10, 2013 (UTC)

OK since FP deleted my work, I'll re-arrange it for here.

1. 12yrs April 5, 2010 in Slumber Party Panic
2. 13yrs March 14, 2011 in Mystery Train
3. 14yrs February 14, 2012 in Newsarama Interview

Key phrasing: Pendleton Ward "Finn is not that old – he's 14 now, he ages every year."

While it that doesn't specify HOW MUCH he ages every year, the clear implication there is that he ages a year every year (which seems to be roughly how it's been going from 10 to 12). His birthay should be somewhere between April 6th and February 13th based on what we know so far... and actually Mystery Train is his birthday so if we assume a concurrent time/date he should age every March 14th.

So if he was 12 on April 5th, it means he was 11 the previous month. One problem with him being 14 by February 14th is that this is before March 14th... so time is actually passing FASTER in Adventure Time world than in our world.

Based on that, unless time was going faster and then slowed down, he should be 15 by now. But hey, there's no guarantees, Ward's statement may have only been policy for the first 3 seasons and they may have decided to slow down the time scale for season 4 and so on, perhaps a show represents a day every day instead of every week or whatever.

Assuming that time is passing at the same right for others, we still have 2 birthdays lapsing in time from April 5th 2010 to February 14th 2012. That means at least 1 year has passed during that time, so for EVERY character for whom we have age, I think we should be supplying a reference for WHEN they were stated to be that age, which is very relevant.

Marceline is 1003, sure, but it's notable that this was in an episode that aired March 25, 2013. Even if we assume Finn is still 14 at this point, back when he was 12, shouldn't Marceline have been 1001 or 1002 or something like that? So I think every age should be dated so we can establish some kind of timeline here. Simply putting an age without a references seems pointless.

Also I'm wondering regarding him being 12 in ep 1 if we could include a reference for that. Doesn't appear to be mentioned in Slumber Party Panic's transcript. +Yc 08:56, July 10, 2013 (UTC)

The air dates of his birthday episode isn't the date of his birthday. They have a schedule in which episodes air and they didn't choose that date in particular because they wanted that to be his birthday. Also, his age in unneeded to be in the transcript. BillStef (talk) 14:34, July 10, 2013 (UTC)

Finger count

Since we have seen in His Hero in this shot I would contend that Finn has always had 5 digits (4 fingers 1 thumb) and that even if it only looks like 4 most of the time, that is simply because he is contorting his hand in some way so that it is out of the shot.

For example in Davey in this shot we can only see 3 digits. If you can hide a thumb, you can hide a pinky. +Yc 22:08, March 3, 2014 (UTC)

Escape from the citadel

Escape from the citadel.

In this episode Finn finally gets into the citadel and finds his dad who is freed by the lich's evil flames. It turns out " Finns dad" who is now known as Martin has no idea who Finn is and keeps calling him kid. Martin try's to escape from the citadel while Finn try's to get to stay by grabbing a crystal hammer that Martin and some other citadel prisoners were standing on while it was heading into a void, causing his arm and his blade of grass to mutate into a huge shrub arm soon breaking off removing Finns true right arm. The lich, now a giant baby due to some magic goo, is brought to tree trunks house for her to keep as her own child. Finns arm is now reduced to a arm stub with a flower on the edge. Actually in the episode The Tower, Finn Mertens has some substitute arms, for instance, he was using a bulky candy arm made by PB and then a telekinetic arm as well, before the episode Breezy where his original arm has grown back thanks to the queen bee Breezy (character). Finn's Mental Condition

After the broadcast of "Breezy", I went back through all the episodes, studying Finn's mannorisms and behavior (particularly during Season 5), and it seems as though Finn has a personality disorder known as "Borderline Personality Disorder". Finn shows several signs of being afflicted by such a disorder, and I wanted to collect the information on Finn's wiki page. However, I just wanted to know, before I start, if it would be considered speculation, due to the fact that it has not been stated by the show's creator directly.

Shouldn't Finn be 16 now(2014)?

Should Finn's age be 16 now as of July 2014? About one year has passed since the creator stated Finn was the same age as Flame Princess(15) and assuming the episode featuring Finns birthday (Mystery train) was aired on the day of his birth March 14 shouldn't he be 16?
