I'm sure that, even though it has never been directly stated that the show takes place on earth, it can easily be inferred that it takes place on there.Where else would it take place on? I mean, there is even proof of Christianity in the show, and before Holly Jolly Secrets aired. And, most importantly, the buildings and other structures that are clearly made by humans. 2nd Planet from the Sun

The sidebar reads "3rd planet from the sun" but (quoting the trivia from Mars) "In "The Lich," it is revealed that Mars is the third planet from the sun because the Sun's expansion resulted in the destruction of Mercury"  so unless the entire sidebar "3rd planet from the Sun, the Orion-Cygnus Arm, Milky Way Galaxy. Near Quasar 3C 405" is a quote from the show (in which case there should be an episode reference), this should be deleted entirely and changed to merely "2nd planet from the sun" as that is all that has been confirmed by actual "Adventure Time" canon so far. The quasar is a quote from real life, quasars are how astrophysicists denote locations in the wide expanse of space since no two quasars are alike. Scratch that... oops that should have been labeled with a pulsar, not a quasar... x.x; So pulsar PSR J0108-1431 would be what it should be. Though we know from the "Adventure Time" creator, Pendleton Ward, that Ooo is a contenent on post-apocalyptic Earth and that the Earth is now the second planet from the sun from show canon, we don't have any canonical source stating that the solar system is still within our known reality. The explosion of the sun and/or whatever caused the hole in the planet could have, for example, been the result of an experiment which threw our solar system (well, technically we only know about the Sun, Earth, and Mars at this point) into another reality which could explain the existance of magic and the interaction with multiple dimensions. Of course, you may be absolutely right, and kudos to you for knowing that (colour me impressed) but I believe wiki entries should be limited to verifiable show canon.     It's not so much a matter of belief as it is not making assumptions in a show with living candy people, magic, advanced technology, and dimensional travel being as easy as staring cross-eyed at a corner or spilling bug milk on a happy face and saying an incantation.

    However, if we want to speculate (that's half the fun after all) and we stick to actual science for the moment, if the expansion of the sun that destoyed Mercury was natural and the final million year expansion to a red giant hasn't started (else the sun in the show wouldn't still be yellow) then the story takes plece close to 7.6 billion years in the future, yet from what I've read the pulsar stage of neutron stars is likely limited to a few billion years at most, so there's a very good chance that pulsar PSR J0108-1431 wouldn't be a pulsar anymore.

    If we loosen things up to consider the show's psuedo-science/magic as well what we know from actual physicis, the Earth missing a large portion of its mass as would the sun as it expands to destroy Mercury would both have released/expended a catastrophic amount of life-destroying energy, yet all life on Earth wasn't destroyed plus the Earth remains in a stable enough orbit to sustain life so something other than natural events must of interveined. What I proposed earlier (strictly as a possiblity off the top of my head) was that if dimensional travel is possible with the minimal energy expended in the examples I mentioned above, imagine what could happen with the energy released from whatever took out a chunk of the Earth and protected us from the solar expansion.

   Now I'm not saying either situation is likely, but there's no way to know anything for certain in a show like this until it's introduced into the show's canon. Be unreasonable. -- KADC (talk) 04:52, February 15, 2014 (UTC)

Ooo's Creation and the Rift, and the Cause of War

This is of pure discussion 

(Ooo's Creation)

All of the Energy released from the Nuclear weapons launched and dropped caused large amounts of kinetic energy forcing tectonic plates to shift eradically, this caused the formation of Ooo Which is probably the remnants of the continents such as: Asia, Africa (The Rift Valley), America, Europe and Australia

(The Rift)

The Rift is Located over the remants of the Northern Americas and Parts of Asia and Eastern Russia, these areas had the most amount of kinetic discharge and radiation, because of this the area remained scared, after awhile parts of these areas drifted off and made parts of Ooo. The Rift is also a source of a lot of the Paranormal and Demonic Elements of Ooo, and the Home of Agartha.

(Cause of War)

Sometime between 1984 to 2080 the increasing tension between China, America and Russia (Due to the Invasion of Ukraine (If the Mushroom war hasn't happened yet) Would become worse when natural deposits of Oil and Uranium would be come rarer and rarer, this caused a Global War to fight over the resources, which ended up in a Global Thermonuclear war.
