Alice, finally! You're really late![]

I've been waiting all year for an Alice In Wonderland episode, I think this might finally be it! 67.142.178.23 22:20, May 9, 2012 (UTC)

Just because of the word "card" doesn't mean "Alice In Wonderland episode". 216.176.129.124 22:22, May 9, 2012 (UTC)

Card Wars?[]

Hi. I found this photo taken from the Latin American dubbing process of Adventure Time. In the image, you read the episodes titles: Princess Cookie/Card Wars. Official name of the episode? --Katholico 23:49, June 21, 2012 (UTC)

More like a bad translation. --ShrubSkyKim 23:52, June 21, 2012 (UTC)

Cultural[]

I readded that trivia for the reason that it has elements that many TCGs have. The movements of cards for attack(Yugio/MtG), a bench (pokemon), Holograms (Yugio tv), and a few other things. Sephy LTrue SephirothSephy R 07:02, July 19, 2012 (UTC)

Errors: flooping and activating[]

The comment in the Errors section about flooping and activating being in the wrong directions should be removed.

tl/dr: this isn't an error, flooping and activating are performed identically and the ambiguity between the actions is part of the joke.

There are strong indications that this mechanic is drawn from Magic: The Gathering. In that game, when a creature attacks is is turned sideways (in either direction) as a side effect; that creature is now "tapped". Or if a creature is not already "tapped" you can "tap" it by turning it sideways to achieve an effect (which is analagous to Card Wars' concept of Flooping). Also, note that in Magic cards may defend without tapping.

The key sequence in the episode is when Jake attackes with his husker knights, Finn floops his pig, and Jake corrects him, saying that he doesn't turn his card sideways to defend. The distinction between activating and flooping, which both involve turning the card sideways (in either direction, I'd posit) while meaning different things is meant:

- As a narrowly focused in-joke for those familiar with Magic (which seems unsurprising given the profound number of Dungeons and Dragons and Atari references found in the show, which hit a similar demographic)

- To make fun of how confusing this is in Magic, and generally supports the episode's broader joke about how confusing most collectible card games are

- To poke fun at Wizards of the Coast's patenting of the "tapping" concept by doing the exact same thing under another goofy name.

Immortal Mazewalker[]

I haven't seen a script or anything, but based on the fact that the creature deals triple damage because of cornfields, I think it might actually be the Immortal Maizewalker. That jumped right out at me when I saw the episode anyway. RandomPhysicsNerd (talk) 10:59, December 18, 2012 (UTC)

The cup in the beginning[]

Those runes say "Cup of Macy Ale".[]

I couldn't watch the show further before I had translated the inscription. Know you all know.

How to Put in Errors[]

I found an error in this episode that isn't here, but I don't know how to put it on the page. Can someone tell me how? (The fight between the pig and the wandering bald man is at the edge of the useless swamp, but when the pig gets stuck, it is in the middle of the swamp.) 24.29.57.53 17:33, February 22, 2013 (UTC)

I'll take care of it.

Finn and Jake[]

This is something I just realized.

Wouldn't you think Finn (Who grew up with Jake and lived with him his whole life) would have already known that Jake is a sore loser? I mean unless this is something Jake just recently developed, I can't imagine BMO would know more about Jake than Finn (His own brother) would.

2 more Errors[]

I found 2 more errors:

- When Jake tells Finn he could lose in the first couple rounds, you can see a volcano on Jake's land. This isn't supposed to be there yet - he floops it later in the game.

- The first time Pig eats Jake's cornfield, the corn just vanishes. When Pig eats it again, the corn is physically shown to be eaten. 24.29.57.53 17:11, May 11, 2013 (UTC)

Card Wars[]

I don't know how to play "Card Wars" online. Can someone send me a link or something?[]

Might Want to Add in Trivia...[]

Card Wars has actually become a real, non-digital card game now. It also clears up some of the confusion on this page (card names, etc.). Contact me if you need any research assistance (I have every deck released so far, and a few boosters).

EDIT -- Whoops, forgot my signature.
