Should this page be renamed Root Beer Guy? (if so, I have no clue how to or even if I can)  Hunson (talk) 14:21, December 3, 2013 (UTC)

This is a much different situation than Pineapple Guy. The character was given a direct name in the series, and was a protagonist of an epissode. I think this page should be renamed. Metashadow555 (talk) 15:10, December 3, 2013 (UTC)

This issue should be reopened, Candy Person 28 is not an appropriate name for this article. The "Candy Person" label is to be used for candy people who are have not been referred to by any particular name. Root Beer Guy very clearly has a name and has had an entire episode named after him. Let me post a quote from the Manual of Style Artilce: "The article title must be the subject's official name, e.g., "Finn" instead of "Main Character."" I think this speaks for itself, this article's current title is in direct violation of this wiki's manual of style and should be moved accordingly. I still keep my position to leave the pages the way they are now for the following reason:

1. It is more consistent to keep them all as Candy Person ## since most of them do not have alternate names.

i. The pages already do have redirects which, I believe, is sufficient enough.

2. The character model sheets are more official, in regards to naming, compared to the credits.

i. There has been no recent character sheets released that labels him as "Root Beer Guy".

ii. This wiki, since Day 1, has always referred to the character sheets as the main reference for official names and pages.

3. It is customary for credits to label characters based on what they were referred to as the most in the episode.

i. Root Beer Guy has always been "Candy Person 28" in all other cases.

ii. He was only given an alternate name "Root Beer Guy" as the episode was different from the rest and promoted differently due to its star, Jack Pendarvis, as seen on their Facebook.

I also believe this article should be renamed Root Beer Guy. There was a recent comment by Adam Muto on his Spring stating, "The Candy People names supersede their number designation." [Link]
