Plants do have stress, as any other living being. Any change on plants when facing harsh environment is due to stress and it's perfectly logic that someone who knows about plans can detect easily when plants are suffering - smaller size than expected, absorbtion of contaminants, presence of pests and germs.

Plants don't feel fear as they don't have anything like a brain cortex, so that's correct. But plants have senses difficult to understand for non-trained humans - they detect where the sun comes from, they detect when spring starts, they can touch and grow around a post and more. So it's plausible for someone with extransensory perception to empathize somehow with them.

The ability to respond to external stimuli does not imply sentience. Plants do not experience stress, stress is an emotion experienced only by sentient life. It is not plausible, because it is impossible. SwegWrestlur 17:22, July 21, 2017 (UTC)
