Starchy (full title is Starchy the Grave Digger) is the Candy Kingdom's grave digger. He first appears in "Slumber Party Panic" where he gets attacked by Candy Zombies whilst delivering a larger corpse shovel to Princess Bubblegum. He seems to become one of the Candy Zombies after his attack, even though he exploded from becoming too scared. Starchy is returned to normal when Princess Bubblegum finishes her equation (the answer is four) and cures the zombie Candy People of their disease. Even though being cured, he craves for flesh. He then makes a cameo in "Ricardio the Heart Guy". He is one of the many onlookers watching Ricardio giving Lumpy Space Princess a Best Friend Massage. Starchy became sick due to the Ice King's Freezer Burn Flu in "What Have You Done?", but recovered, then grew big muscles. He also appears in the episode, "Susan Strong" where he is dressed as a Beelzebub, or devil, to try and ward off Susan and the other Hyoomens.
Appearance
His resemblance is that of a chocolate malt ball. He has a long brown mustache and a blue hat.

- Even though it seems like Starchy was turned into a zombie, he was seen during the slumber party while playing "Blockaydo".
- Squeezing Starchy will make him pass gas.
- He works as a grave digger, as shown in "Slumber Party Panic"
- Starchy seems to be roughly based on Scruffy the Janitor from Futurama, as they both have menial jobs and refer to themselves in the third person.
