The third season of Adventure Time premiered on Cartoon Network from July 11, 2011 to February 13, 2012 (US), and contains a total of twenty six 11-minute episodes.

Broadcast[]

Season 3 of Adventure Time premiered on July 11, 2011 with the episode "Conquest of Cuteness", which was watched by 2.686 million viewers in the US, which is higher than Adventure Time's previous season premieres. The episode with the highest number of viewers was "Fionna and Cake", which had a total of 3.32 million viewers. Throughout the season most episodes had around 2 million viewers at premiere.

Awards[]

Season 3 saw several award nominations. The episode "Thank You" was nominated for an Annie Award for Best Animated Special Production, an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, and an Animated Short Film award at the Sundance Film Festival in early 2013. Unfortunately, the episode did not win any of the awards. The episode "Too Young" was also nominated for a 2012 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Short-format Animated Program, but did not win the award.

Adventure Time: The Complete Third Season[]

Adventure Time: The Complete Third Season was released on February 25, 2014 in the United States on DVD and Blu-ray. The cover features BMO and removing the sleeve reveals BMO without his front casing on, with his internal components visible. The Complete Third Season was also released by Madman in Australia and New Zealand on DVD on May 5, 2014, and Blu-ray on May 3, 2014.

Special features on the DVD include commentary tracks on every episode and "How an Idea Becomes Adventure Time", featuring Pendleton Ward, Adam Muto, and Kent Osborne.

Adventure Time: Jake vs. Me-Mow[]

The Jake vs. Me-Mow DVD contains 16 episodes from seasons 1 - 4, including the titular episode. It was released on October 2, 2012 in the US.

Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake[]

The Fionna and Cake DVD contains 16 episodes from seasons 1 - 4, including the titular episode. It was released on February 19, 2013 in the US.
