"Puhoy" is the sixteenth episode in the fifth season of Adventure Time. It's the one hundred and twentieth episode overall.
Synopsis
Depressed by his feelings with Flame Princess, Finn enters a pillow fort built by Jake where he enters a new world where he makes a new life for himself.
Plot
The episode starts off with a knife storm outside the Tree Fort, Jake, who is shaped like a bulldozer is carrying pillows, then he dumps the pillows on Finn, making BMO fall on Finn's head and CMO on BMO's head. Finn tells Jake to knock it off, Jake apologizes then he said that he has gotta cheer him up and said to Finn that he built a pillow fort with him just sitting there assaulted and ask why he is like that. Finn depressingly said that he just thinking of Flame Princess and said that he told her a joke, but he said she didn't even laugh and thought that he is over with her. BMO said that maybe she does not understand the joke he told, Finn doesn't believe him, and said that maybe she used her laugh on other guys jokes and said that having a girlfriend is hard, but Jake adds that being crazy is hard and started explaining that he needs to focus on the real problem, then demonstrates by throwing his favorite mug outside the window then he said that it is not real and he doesn't care about it anymore. BMO was then shocked of what happened to his favorite window, but Finn still didn't understand what they were saying and said that he just wants some alone time and to let his mind fester, so then he went in the pillow fort. Once in, Finn discovers a door, opens it, and finds a whole new world made of pillows. Once there, he went to a town in which he slayed a pillow dragon. He then met the mayor Quilton, who ordered a celebration. There he met Quilten's daughter, Roselinen. Meanwhile, Jake "fished" his favorite mug. Through time Finn then had children with Rosalin, while Quilten researched about the door. Finn then went to the oracles to find it and finally gave up, accepting his new-found family. On the verge of death, finally Finn got out of the pillow fort and almost told Jake about the supposed dream, until Flame Princess called and finally forgetting the dream.

- This is a first episode that CMO appears, having been originally from a canceled episode.
- Jake throws his favorite cup out of BMO's favorite window.
- CMO only appears once as he falls on BMO's head.
- "Puhoy," the name of this episode, is the pillow version of the word "ahoy", that Pillowton said when he got off of the pillow boat to talk to Finn.
- This is the first time Finn indirectly refers to Flame Princess as his girlfriend.
Cultural references
- Finn living another life in the pillow world and growing old until returning to his former self after finally leaving is similar to the Pevensie children in C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
- The premise of the story, an adventurer/explorerlike person dreaming or living out another, more familial life is similar to the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "The Inner Light." Additionally Jonathan Frakes, who starred as Commander William T. Riker in that series, provides the voice of older Finn.
- The Pillowcronomicon is likely a reference to the Necronomicom, the fictional grimoire that appeared in the stories written by horror writer H. P. Lovecraft and various films such as The Evil Dead.
Episode connections
- This is the second time a knife storm occurs. The first time was "Rainy Day Daydream."
- Finn appears to have a pillow-like robobtic arm replacing his right arm. He previously envisioned himself with a robotic arm in "Mortal Folly," "Who Would Win," and "King Worm." Farmworld Finn's right arm is also robotic.
- Jake mentions his kids for the first time since "Jake the Dad."
- BMO has his '#1 MO' cup from "Video Makers".
- The music playing during the dance sounded extremely similar to "Let Me Show You Something Special" from the episode "Princess Monster Wife".
- The "Tea Leaves" newspaper is written in lines, pointing to Choose Goose or his pre-war soundalike Bruce Geuse, who was a reporter.
Errors
- During the final scene in the Pillow-world, Jay's wife switches placement around the bed, first next to Jay, then next to Roselinen.
