He shows interest in Gary's Pastry Menschen project due to it being "Full of sentimentality". This mirrors Maja's spellcasting being fueled by sentimental affection in the main show, as shown in Sky Witch and Something Big. After seeing that Marshall Lee was being denigrated by his mother, Gary tells her off and states that Marshall "Deserves way better than anything that creep could do for me", referring to Marjoe.
