James Baxter is a horse who travels around the land of Ooo, cheering people up by balancing himself on a beach ball and neighing out his own name, "JAMES BAXTER!". He is animated, voiced by, and named after the animator James Baxter. He seems to come out immediately after someone is lonely, depressed or crying. When James Baxter is done for the day, he deflates his beach ball, folds it into a hat, places it on top of his head, and trots away.

Appearance
James Baxter is a tall horse with yellow-orange fur. His hooves are a typical brown color. Like most characters in the show, he has a simple face consisting of dot eyes and a basic mouth. He has small ears of matching fur color that are pointy and naturally stretching upwards. His mane is a bleach-blonde color that's length is midway on his back. His tail is of the same color and is an average length. At the end of the episode, he is shown a pink and purple color scheme, which is most likely due to the sunset.
Equipment
- Beach ball: Colored red, yellow, and blue with a white center. As shown in the episode, his act of balancing and moving from one place to another atop it enables him to make people happy. At the end of each day, he folds it into a hat.

- James Baxter appears to be a mustang horse, which is fitting, since the person who animated him was James Baxter, who worked with Dreamworks, who in turn created Spirit, Stallion of the Cimarron, a movie which stars a mustang.
