The following information is from the Adventure Time comic book series. It may not be part of the same canon or continuity as the animated series.

Adventure Time Issue 10 is an issue of the Adventure Time comic book. It is a standalone issue titled Choose Your Own Adventure Time.

THERE'S NO BETTER TIME TO JUMP INTO THE ALL-AGES SENSATION! Join Jake the Dog and Finn the Human as they have sensational adventures in the magical land of Ooo! If you haven't checked out the comic book adaptation of the hit Cartoon Network show, now's the time!

The comic starts with Ice King cursing Finn and Jake with a spell allowing the reader to choose the duo's actions. It is now up to the reader to choose the adventure through multiple plot choices in order to free the heroes.

The reader can choose to seek help from various characters. If they visit the Fire Kingdom, then Flame King will tell them that Flame Princess isn't around. They will invariably end up going to Princess Bubblegum. This segment of the story includes an alternate bad ending where the reader refuses to let Finn properly explain the situation to her, and they end up stuck forever. If the reader chooses not to make Finn and Jake toot, then they will also end up seeking help from Adventure Tim, who is suffering from the exact same problem.

Eventually, the reader arrives at one of three possible endings. Firstly, the characters will refuse to do anything interesting until the reader relinquishes control. Secondly, the characters will attempt to give the reader so many choices that they can no longer keep track. Thirdly, Princess Bubblegum can recast the spell on Finn and Jake so that they are back in control of their own bodies. Whatever the reader chooses, their "control" will be relinquished, and the story ends with Finn and Jake telling Ice King not to do it again.

Backup stories

Hot Deals in Ice Kingdom

"Hot Deals in Ice Kingdom" is a backup comic by Jon M. Gibson and Jim Rugg. It also appears in "Sugary Shorts" Volume 1.[1]

Ice King wishes to buy eight "Miracle Shine Polisher & Juicers," but Gunter refuses to order them due to Ice King's hoarding. Ice King decides to have a "Lair Sale" and sell off his items to various characters. However, Jake finds his doomsday device and messes with it. It doesn't work until Jake replaces the batteries and destroys the universe. However, immediately after this, Ice King is telling this tale of hoarding to Orphan Ice Prince Timothy, who begins to question the continuity flaws of what happened.

In "Hot Deals in Ice Kingdom"

  • The title is a reference to Choose Your Own Adventure, the popular children's book series.
  • This issue breaks the fourth wall by specifically involving the reader.
  • The movie that Finn and Jake watch if they go on vacation with Ice King contains the weapons from Bravest Warriors.
  • The spell which Princess Bubblegum uses at the end, "anih cam xesued", is "deus ex machina" backwards, referring to fact that this choice is an abrupt and sudden solution to the problem.
