the ice king is a regular dude who is smart who got the enchanted crown that either screwed up his mind with the power or some kind of spirtual imprint or something like that. i wonder is there a way with all of the magic running a muck in a land of mutants to sepate the guy and the ice king. but since real sience is gone and most of the things out there in the world are just for novelty, i wonder if there is real magic that can do so.

There are a fe problems with what you are saying. First it's Simon who is all messed up currently. Ice King is the crown's spirit or something similar to that. Secondly There is 1 body and 2 people. If you split them then there might be no way of telling which spirit you're taking from the body and then who knows what IK would do without Simon (he could distroy the world). But maybe PB could do something but Simon/IK is 1047 years old (give or take) which is super far from the normal life expectancy of a human. So they would have to find a way to make him immortal which would also present itself as a challenge. I mean maybe they could spring his memory or whatever but it's going to take alot as Simon/ IK only showed very small signs of remembering Marceline in I remember you. You seem to think that the Ice King and Simon Petrikov are two different people. I disagree with that, It seems to me that instead of the crown taking over Simon's body, it warps his mind. If you have ever seen or read The Lord of the Rings, I would say the effects of the One Ring and the crown are similar. Both warp the mind of the wearer the longer they are worn and create and obsession with the object. So the question wouldn't be how to separate the Ice King from Simon Petrikov, but how to restore Simon's mind. Also, who knows is prolonged separation from the crown would kill the Ice King or not. - Alchemical (talk) 16:42, April 26, 2013 (UTC)
The real question should be how to reverse Simon back to normal, not how to separate the Ice King.
With our current knoweledge of AT, that's not possible. If you remove the crown, he'll merely lose his powers and immortality, meaning he'll die of old age. I don't know if destroying the crown would work, but it probably wouldn't. The crown already made Simon insane, so the result would be the same like when you remove the crown.
The writers must introduce a new concept. There's no other way.
