I don't think so. --I'm not gonna write you a love song 'cause you asked for it, 'cause you need one, you see 13:15, February 20, 2013 (UTC)

I agree. While "Vault of Bones" hasn't officially aired yet, the preview shows Finn's wanting to keep the torch in the dungeon despite Flame Princess being made of fire, suggesting a metaphor for his lingering feelings for Princess Bubblegum, as described below:

The idiom to carry a torch (for someone) means to love or to be romantically infatuated with someone, especially when such feelings are not reciprocated. It is often used to characterize a situation in which a romantic relationship has ended, but where one partner still loves the other. It is considered by some to be dated, but still in wide usage.

Whoah hang on, how the hell did you link the torch to Princess Bubblegum?
It could either be to suggest he's wary of Flame Princess and may run away so he needs the torch, or it's him liking her flame and wanting to keep a momento, or it's him being an Adventurer and needing a torch to get into Adventurer mood.
Also, it has been mentioned on numerous sources that Finn DOES still have lingering feelings for PB, and I think it's only about time before they blow up again unfortunately, but when they do please I hope to God that she puts it straight to him that he's being a douchebag to his girlfriend however much she disapproves of their relationship. I don't need a Fubblegum Love Triangle. PB and FP don't either. Icanhascheezeburger (talk) 18:27, February 23, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, now that the episode has aired, I can see that I swung and missed - badly. Once Flame Princess insisted on trying to do things her way, Finn agreed and decided not to carry the torch anymore. I consider the metaphor officially dropped. -- Glenn L (talk) 01:46, March 3, 2013 (UTC)
