I took another look at the beginning of "Hot to the Touch" and noticed that Flame Princess left a pink hand-shaped burn mark on Finn's face just before leaving the tree fort. However, when Jake afterwards warned Finn, "she's evil, man!" Finn angrily shouted, "You shut your dirty mouth!" and slapped Jake. Immediately the burn-mark disappeared, apparently as a direct result of his angry outburst. This doesn't always happen so quickly for him, however; in "Burning Low" his facial burns - likely second- or even third-degree burns - did not heal during his emotional efforts to rescue Flame Princess after their lethal first kiss. Two differences: (1) His burns were more serious after the kiss; (2) he didn't respond in anger as he had to Jake. Comments? -- Glenn L (talk) 05:39, October 23, 2012 (UTC)

The difference is most likely caused by the length of contact time and intensity of Flame Princess' flames. In "Hot to the Touch", Flame Princess' contact with Finn's skin was less than half of a second. It is like touching a hot pain before your reflex draws you hand away. It made be red, but only for a short period of time. In "Burning Low", they were in contact for several seconds and Flame Princess' temperature increased radically due to the her unstable elemental matrix. This would lead to third degree burns. - Alchemical (talk) 08:48, October 23, 2012 (UTC)
