The Overshadowing Alter Ego

DAVEY

Davey was one of my favorite episodes of season 5. It was clever for Finn to use the hero taking a disguise routine and really funny to have him forget that he was  actually Finn in the first place. The character had a life of his own and was well developped.  This is one of those episodes that make you wish the show was a full thirty minutes instead of fifteen.

I TOTALLY AGREE! i watched this episode over and over again today (mostly beacuase I didn't understand it due to me being uder the influence of laughing gas from my wisdom-teeth removal earlier today.). I also wish that Adventure Time was a full length show as it has so much potential with its overall plot, characters, and stroy-telling. Even Adventure time "fillers" ( and i use this term very loosely) are good as they prelude to upcoming episodes and even add backround information to minor and main characters.

I think this episode is a prequel to "Return to the Nightosphere". It has so many references to season 1 episodes. It could explain why jake was in his shirt in the first place. He was laying low until it blew over with the Banana Guards.

Also, I think that Davey was some sort of subconscious reference point for Finn, like perhaps emulating his father? Something that reminded him of being "normal" and the way a "normal" log cabin should be.

Do you mean " Henchman?" That's the only other episode i remember Jake being inside of Finn's T-shirt pocket. Anyhow, I think all episodes flow chronologically if otherwise specified.Mr.Tofuu (talk) Mr.Tofuu

They could always have "Davy" come back, perhaps Jake could make his own alter ego too. They could roam around and see what the citizens of the candy kingdom are really thinking and doing. There could be some comedy where the guys have to figure out a way to be heroic while keeping there identitys secret, a Super man - Clark Kent thing. My only complaint is that the episode was too short. I agree, it could have been 30min. 66.66.100.234 04:56, January 17, 2013 (UTC)

No I mean "It Came from the Nightosphere" where finn fights Marceline's dad. Jake isn't in that episode at all except for the last second when finn says "oh Jake's in here. 'Sup Jake?" and then jake farts. The pocket is visible on his shirt throughout the whole episode and never again does his shirt appear with that pocket. It looks as though he hand sewed it on.

In henchman Jake is scared of Marceline the whole time and keeps trying to kill her but chickens out every time.

I agree with Mr. Tofuu that the episode is separate from "Return to The Nightosphere". I think Jake in Finn's pocket is just a recurring element to the show.
