Hello. I am relatively new to this Wiki, and eager to help in any way I can. In the spirit of this, I wanted to express my concern with the idea that this Wiki relies on modelsheets ("when available") for character names. Aside from the fact that modelsheets are not readily available for every character, I am of the opinion that they pretty much become moot once the character is transferred to screen. Often times parts of the characters' designs (including names) will be tweaked or changed completely between the design process and the final product. A notable example (and the reason for this query) is Mannish Man - the modelsheet spells his name "Mannish," but the credits for The Enchiridion! spell his name Manish. Seeing as how virtually all of the other information regarding the characters is taken directly from the episodes themselves, it seems counterintuitive to rely on early production sketches for something as important as a character's name. I wanted to propose that the credits from finished episodes be considered the primary source for character names; the modelsheets are great, and would make wonderful references in "behind-the-scenes" type sections in articles, but it makes no sense to prioritize them over the finalized product. Hi. I think our policy is that (unambiguous) dialogue in the show itself and/or statements by the show's crew do take precedence over names on model sheets. However, I'm not too sure that the credits are a more reliable source of names. The credits have had weird errors before, like spelling NEPTR's name as "n.e.p.t.e.r" which doesn't make any sense. --Cornprone (talk) 00:28, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
