Examples and clarity[]

This is a question about characters of obvious aesthetic similarity. Some of the Candy People are the best examples, as will be shown below. I think that two characters having very similar appearance is enough to include them on the same character article. I say this for two reasons:

1. If a character is a doppleganger without a name, it seems sensible to include on the same article even if we aren't sure it's the same character. If the information goes on either no article, or the article of a character that's exactly the same I say the latter. Zombie Finn is a good example of what this would look like.

2. In terms of characters with little dialogue, we have nothing to base our confirmation on other than appearance or a direct answer from the AT staff. We are in the midst of a discussion about whether staff answers on formspring can even be taken seriously. We have no way to say for absolutely certain - so I think relative certainty is good enough.

I can see good reason to allow speculation if it all evidence is in favor of the speculation and getting absolute confirmation is unlikely. Interestingly, we have allowed this to happen on certain articles. Chocolate Covered Banana and Kitten for example. Perhaps the best example is Snail. Prior to being possessed by the Lich, it is impossible to be absolutely certain we are seeing the same waving snail each time. If some speculation is essentially necessary, I think we should acknowledge that in all cases.

I think it's safe to assume these are the same characters. Do you?

Support Support — I'll support this. It makes no sense if they are considered multiple characters, despite the obvious fact that they are in fact the same. Keep in mind, most Candy People don't get names until later in the series anyways. Just look at Candy Magician and Mark. I feel it should be fine to include these duplicates into the same character article. Sephy LTrue SephirothSephy R 06:13, June 24, 2012 (UTC)
