I think I have adquate proof that BMO is not completely robotic:

 • In Five Short Graybles, BMO is seen to impersonate a human boy.
 • BMO has an asian accent (though this may be to simulate a robotic voice; racism not intended)
 • In BMO Noire, BMO tells Neptr, "No, I am not like you" when Neptr implies that they are both robots.
 • Also in BMO Noire, in BMO's dream, BMO can be heard saying "Who is Beemo?"
 • In Beyond this Earthly Realm, it is revealed that entities in the Spirit Realm can affect objects in the physical realm. This is seen first by Ice King's flailing, in which he alters the tv's frequencies and patterns. However, Finn earlier attempted to stop BMO from playing the embarassing nursery music by punching and kicking at him, to no avail.
 • If the Mushroom War is to be believed, than radiation could have affected the young asian boy's body, infusing him with his favorite gaming consoles.

What do you think?

BMO is not a human, he does not have a quality of being a human. Like does he poop? Does he go to school? Think of it as a living gadget, like that. Ok.

Good point, but he wouldn't have to since he isn't completely human anymore.

BMO appears to be a "cut-and-paste" of older technologies from the 70's/80's/90's. I think that BMO would eventually become human if later electronic technologies, as well as medical advancements, were to be added to him. For instance, most humans assume that their computers are smarter and more sophisticated than they are. I disagree. Computers are programmed dummies. Humans are a superior technology in comparison to the computers and all other electronics. Computers have less data storage capacity and a shorter life span in comparison to humans. Humans are soft tissue, wireless, energy efficient, traveling, emotional, electronic devices that are capable of continuous renewal for an extended life. Good luck getting your computer to last as long or to be as reliable as a humans and the other species!! For that matter, good luck getting stereos, cars, televisions, DVD players and everything else we make to last as long and to be as reliable!! Keep in mind that humans are not currently operating efficiently. The computer doesn't have a spouse, kids, a job, a grouchy boss, overtime, homework, mortgage payments, nosy neighbors, soccer practice, exams, utility bills, the 6:00 news, an endlessly ringing cell phone, in-laws, rush-hour traffic, etc. A computer does not have to deal with the never ending data inundation and the distractions that the humans have been forced to deal with every day for years and years. If all of the species were allowed to live efficiently, like we were designed to be, we would have superior performance in comparison to the computers. When I look at electronic devices it appears that we are reinventing the wheel. I see most electronic devices as being our very distant, ancient relatives. Look at your average computer. It has speech (speaker), hearing (microphone), vision (webcam), still photo and video player capability like your brain has (webcam, memory, monitor), a heart (electrical power source), etc. A human has way more than this, too. Don't you see yourself being reinvented?? All of the electronics we have now will eventually evolve into the species that already existed to begin with. It's a circle...not a straight line. Such a waste of our time and effort!! We should have just left planet earth alone to operate as it was supposed to operate once it was handed to us on Grand Opening Day. Based upon all of this, BMO is close to being a human but was not allowed to get there. Something like the Apocalypse happened before he got to that point. He's somewhere in between being Pinocchio-the wooden puppet and Pinocchio-the little boy.71.53.175.73 19:16, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

Ummm Blu... Finn doesn't go to school?
Anyways it is possible that BMO's personality was the result of brain mapping a human, see Portal 2. I agree. BMO is probably Like GLaDOS.
BMO is not human. BMO is a sentient entertainment system. My friend and I actually talked about why he acts weird sometimes. My friends theory is that BMO stays around the Treefort almost all the time and is often by himself while Finn and Jake go adventuring. This is causing him to go a little bit crazy and do odd things, such as setting up the whole mystery scenario in "BMO Noir." We still aren't sure if he knows that he orchestrated the whole thing. As for the accent, that could just be his/her programming. - Alchemical (talk) 20:12, September 24, 2012 (UTC)
Like GLaDOS? GLaDOS is just simple brain mapping, fairly common and used in a lot of theories for turning people into robots. Not necessarily, but it could be. We don't know much about pre-Mushroom war technology. BMO's sentience may be the result of brain mapping, but I think it would be odd to put a copy of a person's mind into a entertainment system. Perhaps pre-Mushroom War scientists found a way to create sentient A.I,s without the use of brain mapping. This is my guess. - Alchemical (talk) 22:34, October 1, 2012 (UTC)
Why would that be odd? As a video game designer I would LOVE to be able to construct video games from thought alone. The awkward part would be that you have a fully aware and sentient mind of an already existing person in you Xbox (so to speak). This isn't a new being, it is basically a human sold and being used for entertainment. And since BMO is probably one of many mass produced models, there would be many copies of one person running around. There are many ethical issues surrouning this. Odds are that his A.I. was not made from brain mapping do to these ethical issues. - Alchemical (talk) 21:24, October 3, 2012 (UTC)

Because the printers you work on do not contain copies of your brain, which holds your personality. If they did brainmapping for products, then you would have tons of copies of a certain individual all over the world. Imagine if all the printers you did work on had copies of your mind inside their programming. Would you be comfortable with hundreds, maybe even thousands, of people having "you" in their homes? To me, it would be a little weird. That is why I said that they probably built BMO's A.I. from scratch. - Alchemical (talk) 19:51, October 10, 2012 (UTC)

How would the person have a job as being a game console? After the brain mapping is done, the copy is indepenent from the original and not connected in any way. The copy (which is the game console) goes one way and the original (who is still a human) goes another. - Alchemical (talk) 03:35, October 12, 2012 (UTC)

Although we can only make an educated guess as to BMO's origin the evidence is highly suggestive that it is a sentient artificial intelligence rather than a person who has been brain mapped into a piece of technology etc. BMO acts much like Pinochio in that it dreams of being a real boy or sometimes girl depending on the situation and episode. The very fact that BMO does not have any sort of permanent sexual identity is highly suggestive it was never a person since this is one of the things that is very much hardwired into people from a young age. BMO is often refered to as both He or She and seems to spend a great deal of time trying to emulate real people. A real person trapped in a machine body wouldn't sit around trying to figure out how to act like a little boy. BMO would already know from his former life as a human being how to act like a little boy and wouldn't sit around trying to figure it out. I think BMO is one of the more adorable and original characters on AT. Like most of AT's characters, BMO's story is somewhat tragic. In the latest Grables episode BMO is shown teaching his alter ego "Football" how to drink tea. He is shown shorting out and harming himself repeatedly with the spilled tea as he obsessively tries to teach Football how to be more properly human. It's quite sad really.Melting Sky (talk) 21:56, December 4, 2012 (UTC)

As for the inhabitants of OOO being the result of radiation induced mutation I'm not sure the evidence really supports that. It is heavily suggested that a very big part of the reason OOO is as it is today is due to the detonation of the "mutagenic bomb" depicted in "Finn the Human" and "Jake the Dog." That bomb was not a classical nuke. When it detonated a great plume of green fire and screaming faces filled the sky and streamed out in all directions. The goo left behind in the crater instantly mutated Jake into a Lich like creature. This weapon seems more magical than technological in origin or rather a hybrid of the two. It is not clear who the creator of this doomsday weapon was. It may not even be a product of mankind. —Preceding unsigned comment added by {} (talk • contribs) . The evidence is the creator of the show specifically saying so.
