Usually I can catch the title card's reference and meaning for each episode but I can't for the life of me see why this episode was called "Earth and Water." Is there anybody out there who can fill me in on this one? What is the reason for the title?Melting Sky (talk) 06:46, September 6, 2013 (UTC)

well i dont really know but remember flame princess called finn a water element in that episode when she was destroying the goblin kingdom Azikiwe17 (talk) 00:39, September 7, 2013 (UTC)

Maybe they want new element like episode "Frost and Fire" it used ice and fire element.FinnManusia (talk) 16:25, September 7, 2013 (UTC)

I can maybe see the water reference as Ice King's melted kingdom, but earth doesn't seem to fit.Melting Sky (talk) 06:05, September 8, 2013 (UTC)

they should have called it like fire and water or somthin.marice21

Maybe Cinnamon Bun is earth, and Finn is water? 'Cause whenever I think of earth elementals, I imagine them associated with food for some reason. OdangoHead98 (talk) 11:05, September 16, 2013 (UTC)Odangohead98

Hmm I've been wondering about that.  But maybe we're thinking of it too literally.  What if earth represents cold hard rejection or loneliness, and water represents sadness?  Just a thought, I could be totally wrong.

by joe i got it. fire and ice were to contrasting elements, water and earth always come together at some point but also have to be seperate. or something. maybe its a link to finns next love intrest which i think is going to be a human or something close Azikiwe17 (talk) 03:08, October 4, 2013 (UTC)

Pendleton Ward should make something work out for Finn. I really don't like those emotional moments when love turns cold and hard. ZanyDragon (talk) 04:29, October 7, 2013 (UTC)

I think ShokoSpectre is right in assuming the meaning is more abstract. I can definately see water representing sadness but earth is harder to interpret. Earth is solid and firm. Perhaps Earth represents how Flame Princess comes to terms with Finn's betrayal and finds herself. She goes back home to her roots and by the Episodes end she seems much more centered and stronger for her ordeal. -shrug- Melting Sky (talk) 07:54, October 7, 2013 (UTC)
