Grob Gob Glob Grod is a four faced deity from Mars. They are the older brothers of King Man and first appeared in "Sons of Mars." In "Astral Plane," they sacrificed their lives to save Mars from a "comet" (Martin's spaceship), but in "Normal Man" it was revealed that they survived the impact and their heads are currently orbiting the Earth.
The four are often evoked as religious entities in the Land of Ooo, as Jake is shown to believe in "Glob World," and Finn in "No One Can Hear You" speculates Candy Kingdom people worship Glob in church.
In "Astral Plane", Glob says he can see Finn because "I am Glob" and also mentions that Gob says "Oh my Glob". Grob Gob and Grod are also seen to smile at Finn's question so Glob could mean all four of them can see Finn because of who they are. His reasoning on why they can see Finn may be related to why they are worshipped in Ooo and why they are seen as God.
They also banished the space deity Orgalorg to Earth, after he tried to absorb the power of a Catalyst Comet.

Abilities[]
Grob Gob Glob Grod have some form of telekinesis as they lift Jake in the form of Magic Man off the ground without touching him. They can also levitate, as well as drain Magic Man's powers. Not only are they able to survive and even talk in the vacuum of space, but they are also capable of flying extremely swiftly, being able to reach Earth from Mars in a matter of minutes. They also have access to the mondo advanced technology of Mars, allowing them to, among other things, track down people over vast distances, as shown in the beginning of "Sons of Mars" when one of them tracks down Magic Man. Grod also is said to be a very good drawer. Glob can also see Finn when he was in the Astral Plane. It is possible that he can see anyone who is there.
Appearance[]
Grob Gob Glob Grod are a roughly humanoid shaped being until "Normal Man." They had four faces, one on each side of their head. The faces sometimes all talk at once. They are also bald, due to Magic Man casting a spell on them. Their head appeared to be floating and not actually attached to their body. The red, jewel shaped object on their head was not part of their body, but a piece of headgear that concealed the baldness Magic Man caused. The shape of their eyes vary from having dots for eyes to having fully drawn eyes during close ups. They had a sword that has a white spiky core that emanates a blue aura.
Grob Gob Glob Grod did not have their helmet at some point in the past before Magic Man got his magic. They were shown without it in a flashback in "You Forgot Your Floaties."
They are currently 4 disembodied heads orbiting the Earth.
Relationships[]
Magic/Normal/King Man[]
Grob Gob Glob Grod are the older siblings of King Man. They banished King Man to Earth for 200 years before "Sons of Mars" for several crimes against the Martians. In "Sons of Mars," they brought Jake (whom they thought was Magic Man) to Mars for trial. Although they express enmity towards King Man, they still respect him as a brother; when Finn and Jake offer to go after King Man and Grob Gob Glob Grod tell them "I don't want to lose my brother." Glob makes amends with King Man at the end of "Normal Man"
Abraham Lincoln[]
Abraham Lincoln and Grob Gob Glob Grod both lived on Mars. They seem to have been good friends, as Grob Gob Glob Grod are saddened and say that they have lost a friend when Lincoln dies in "Sons of Mars."
Prismo[]
Grob Gob Glob Grod are apparently friends with Prismo, as they are seen at a party in his Time Room in "Wake Up." They unsuccessfully hit on a Water Nymph named Denise, and put her off by asking if she could date the different heads on different days of the week. Later, they take cell phone photos of themselves with the catatonic form of the Lich.

Trivia[]
- Before the episode "Sons of Mars" aired, Pendleton Ward said Grob Gob Glob Grod would appear in an upcoming episode and rocket down to the Land of Ooo from Mars.
- In "Astral Plane," he is referred to as "Gob Glob Grod Grob" instead of "Grob Gob Glob Grod." Evacuation Man also refers to him as "The G-Man."
- The latter, coincidentally or not, shares a name with the Half-Life character known as The G-Man. There is a chance this is intentional, as Grob Gob Glob Grod and The G-Man both play the role of an omniscient, supernatural overseer.
- His helmet can be seen inside BMO's house in "Come Along with Me."
Cultural references[]
- Grob Gob Glob Grod's multiple faces are similar to the Indian god Brahma and the Slavic god Svetovid, as well as the Buddhist deity Asura and the four-faced angels described in the Biblical Book of Ezekiel.
- Additionally, their pointed head shape and body design also draw similarities to the Flatwoods monster.
Production notes[]
- In the storyboard for "Sons Of Mars", Grob Gob Glob Grod was originally going to wear a wrap tunic.
- Ward originally wished to cast the heads of Grob Gob Glob Grod as Bill Murray, Bill Cosby, Bill Clinton, and Bill Nye the Science Guy.
