Chuds are a group of humanoid monsters Finn and Jake encounter in a cave in the Desert of Doom in "The Other Tarts." The mutants presumably attempt to attack and kill Finn and Jake for the tarts, and while both escape, roughly three tarts are missing.
Appearance[]
They have a sickly pale complexion, blue tongue, slit nose, sharp teeth and no eyes. Upon observing their facial structure, we can see that they may have at one point had eyes. They have little hair and large ears, and all are skeletal. They all wear torn clothes of some sort; some only wearing pants and others are fully clothed. All appear to be male and fairly old.
Trivia[]
- The Chuds are a reference to the monsters in the 1984 horror film [1]C.H.U.D., which stands for "Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers."
- They bear a resemblance to [2]The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's Falmer, who, like the Chuds, are blind and live in caves, but since Skyrim was released months after this episode aired, the Chuds couldn't have been based on the Falmer.
- They could be a reference to the Crawlers in the 2005 film [3]The Descent, as they can crawl on walls and ceilings and are both very pale.
