Gameplay[]
The game is split up into three screens: Jake is where you'll add orders - which serve as quests, Tree Trunks is where you'll complete orders and create special items, and Finn is where the player will select Ooo's landmarks. The player has to spend some time in these landmarks, sometimes grinding, to collect ingredients.
Once the player has chosen a landmark, Finn is placed onto a 2D world. Three enemies - each of different types - are placed at random as the player progresses, to which he has to defeat as they drop ingredients. There are areas, marked with uncommon but randomized entrances, where he can grab loot from chests at the end, or where he can exit the landmark early.
Finn, however, has a few downfalls: he has limited storage - once full, he has to send ingredients back to the bakery using the Snail Delivery Service. Some orders require Finn to enter a boss area as well, when Finn's default stats are weaker than the boss itself.
Once the player is done, they can nake a pie (finish an order) to progress. The player can also make various elixirs to help Finn and equip him with various weapons he obtains. He can get new weapons from specific customers, like a fork from the Earl of Lemongrab.
Worlds[]
The game is comprised of four worlds: The Forest, Frosty Mountains, and the Bitter Dungeon. These keys to the latter three are obtained by finishing the Mysterious Guy's order.
Each world is comprised of five elements:
- Enemies - These are Finn's main source of ingredients. When defeated, their loot will drop - they will disappear after some time.
- Melee Enemies - Enemies that will only attack Finn if he is one tile close.
- Ranged Enemies - Enemies that shoot projectiles two tiles away. They shoot, even when Finn stands on falling platforms.
- Sky Enemies - Enemies that can be only defeated if they are at ground-level.
- Treasure chests - These will contain ingredients if opened. Can only be found in "Loot Rooms".
- Falling platforms - If Finn stands on one for too long, he will fall and his health will decrease by 10%. These respawn after a bit.
The player is required to travel to specific worlds and grind through them, in order to complete specific orders. The enemies also get new gimmicks once a new world is unlocked, for an extra challenge.
Certain orders, which can come from the recurring Mysterious Guy, may require Finn to visit a boss room. These areas have a single boss with no other phases, but have a lot more damage and health than a regular enemy. However, special items can be obtained for these orders upon completion and used once for that order only.
Trivia[]
- The Snail Delivery Service likely was intended to have an advertisement before use, but has since been removed at an unknown time.
- Therefore, it is possible to create as many elixirs as the player wants.
- Also, unlike orders, the player can still create elixirs even if they have insufficient ingredients.
- Finn is equipped with a rolling pin by default, which is melee-based.
- Changing this will also change Finn's silhouette on the loading screen.
