Nah, the whole "weird animation" thing reminded me a lot of the AT Pilot (you can find more informations about here : adventuretime.wikia.com/wiki/Pilot ) It was kinda the same Jake in that episode
Besides, in the new episode there is a scene where Finn & Jake tried to tell their name, but said it badly (Jake called Finn "Fake" and Finn called Jake "Pen") or otherwise, Pen & Jake, Pen is the name of Finn in the pilot (but Jake have the same name), so I bet there's more informations that I didn't found !
