Adventure Time has a lot of adult humor in it that kids wouldn't understand, despite being a "kids show". Also it has a crazy plot-line. I don't think any kids understand the whole parallel universe thing either.

i think at the beggining was for kids, but it turns more for adults

My nan is now obsessed with ice king coz I was watching it whilst she was baby sitting my siblings now she watches it when no ones arround lol
